The Papua New Guinea Australia Association Inc (PNGAA Inc) will hold a special meeting on 20 June 2025 to consider a proposed change to the Association's legal name.
The meeting will take place from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Mercy Hub, 607 Nicholson Street, Carlton North, Victoria 3054.
Members will be asked to consider changing the Association's registered name from Papua New Guinea Australia Association Inc to Papua New Guinea Australia Association Victoria Inc.
According to the Association, the proposed name change aims to better reflect the organisation's presence and activities within Victoria while continuing its mission of strengthening community connections and preserving Papua New Guinean identity.
Financial members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion, as member input will play an important role in the decision-making process. The Association has emphasised that only financial members will be eligible to have their voices formally heard on the proposal.
The meeting forms part of the Association's ongoing efforts to ensure its identity and governance structure continue to meet the needs of the Papua New Guinean community in Victoria.

Further information regarding the outcome of the proposed name change and any subsequent registration processes with Consumer Affairs Victoria will be communicated to members following the meeting.
